Cardiff City performing Best in Recent Weeks

Cardiff City have been on a roll in recent weeks. The team has suffered just one defeat in the last seven matches.

After a 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers threatened to disrupt the form once again, the team returned to winning ways by managing a 3-1 win over Rotherham United. Cardiff were clinical in the match with players like Federico Macheda getting on the scoresheet.Macheda has been struggling for form recently and this goal cannot have come at a much better time. He has not scored in the last 11 matches, while this was also his first goal of 2015.

It has helped Cardiff move 13 points clear of relegation zone. This should be more than enough to ensure that the Wales team do not suffer a second consecutive relegation. Russell Slade has been working extremely hard in the last month to motivate his team and it seems that his efforts are starting to pay off. The manager, who was appointed midway through the season, says that he is happy with the ruthlessness shown by his players. Continue reading “Cardiff City performing Best in Recent Weeks”

Cardiff City losing Streak Continues

Cardiff City failed to win in the last five matches of all competitions after a 4-2 defeat against Watford at home. This has increased pressure on manager Russell Slade, who has been coming under from criticism from his own supporters.

However, he feels that it is only a matter of time before the fans start feeling happy about the team. He says that victories should help them achieve this. Slade has targeted a win in the FA Cup match against Colchester United at home in order to break the run of matches without a win. Cardiff’s last victory was back in November when they won 1-0 against Watford.

As a result of this poor form, the prospect of getting back to the Premier League in the first instance is starting to slip away. Continue reading “Cardiff City losing Streak Continues”

Neil Redfearn Has His First Loss As Leeds Manager

The first game ever of Neil Redfearn as the manager of Leeds ended in disappointment when they lost the game with 3-1 goals. Bruno Manga’s first goal for Cardiff and the strike of Federico Macheda is what gave the Bluebirds the control of the match.

The Leeds got a little bit of hope from Alex Mowatt but it was Kenwyne Jones who made a point when he pulled up the defense trick and made his 6th goal of the season. Just before the kickoff, redfearn was confirmed of his appointment and he had told the third manager to take charge of the Yorkshire Club for the season and now the fans can only hope that he can also have the same stabilizing capacity that Slade had over Cardiff.

The fans of Bluebird are supposed to be sympathetic given the conditions the Leeds counterparts had to go through under the ownership of Vincent Tan. Even after this they are perfectly back into the game with three wins under the supervision of Slade who brought them closer to the playoffs.

United fought as much as they could and Cardiff rarely showed the threats of taking over the control. In the 11th minute, Marco Silvestri was made to lay low and keep to his left when Peter Whittingham got his free kick and clawed away of keeper Anthony Pilkington’s header.

The second half of the match was almost same as it settled to be a pattern and the fans were not at all surprised when Cardiff took the lead once again. When Macheda came forward and took control 6 minutes later, he landed a goal to the top corner after the ball was hit by Jason Pearce’s boot and it got deflected. The Leeds found their way back into the game with the help of doukara who got himself at a distance from Fabio and chose Mowatt to fire that angled drive across Marshall.

BONY CONTRIBUTES

Garry Monk, the Swansea City boss, reckons that Wilfried Bony is not only finding the back of the net for the team, he is contributing in many other ways as well. In the previous game versus Leicester City, Bony had struck two times to give Swansea the first win in the last couple of months.

The Swans had won all their league games in September. They had even beaten the 20-time champion Manchester United. But, thereafter, they sort of lost their way a little bit and went through a long period without any win, losing 3 out of their next 5 games, while, drawing 2. Continue reading “BONY CONTRIBUTES”
